Weddings can get expensive but if you plan using the below tricks, you can still have a wonderful wedding but save money at the same time.
You can save money by offering your guest cupcakes instead of cake. Many venues charge to slice the cake but if you offer cupcakes you will save on that fee. You can rent a artificial wedding cake for the photoes which will have the top part of the tower as a real cake for the bride and groom to cut.
Cupcakes can also work as the wedding favors. You can supply guest with cup cake favor boxes so they have the choice to take the cupcakes home if the are full from the meal. By doing this double tip you will save a lot of money on your wedding reception!
Don't be shy ask for discounts. Many venues/vendors may be running specials that you may not be aware of. You can find these discounts also by following them on social media, joining their mailing list, and attending bridal shows.
Take a look at your guest list one last time. See if you can trim your guest list down by 25-50 people.
Ask your ceremony/reception site if they offer reduced fees if you book your event on a Friday or Sunday.
Often you can save money by having your ceremony and reception at the same location.
Ask your ceremony and reception location what decorations they offer that may be included in your contract. You maybe able to decorate your events using everything they offer or using the items as part of your decorations. This will save money!
After you pick your color see what floral is in season at the time of your events so you get the best price on flowers for your season.
Consider a buffet style menu instead of a sit down menu.
Choose food that is in season to get the best rates, same scenario as choosing your florals.
Save money by serving just wine and beer at your reception. You can add one signature cocktail for the welcome drink if you would like to add a special touch. By limiting the alcohol choices this will save you a lot of money.
